Here are 12 Fall Nail Trends that We’re Currently Obsessed With:
Gold drip tips
Gold dripping tips are one of Alexandra Teleki’s most requested nail art trends. Alexandra believes that a touch of gold on top of a modern, bare manicure is appropriate for all settings and events. This requires a steady hand if you’re doing it yourself, but a professional manicurist will nail it (pardon the pun) on the first go.
Glass nails
Megan Decker, beauty editor for R29, recently went to the Vanity Projects salon in New York in order to experience the soon-to-be-trending ‘glass’ manicure. There is a widespread belief that the foil mosaic design originated in Korea. Recently, glass nail art was posted by nail artist Park Eunkyung, and it almost immediately encouraged other nail artists to think about numerous ways to customize the appearance. According to the data analytics provided by Pinterest, there has been a 170% increase in the number of people searching for “glass manicure.” The score that Decker gave them was ten out of ten, and she said, “I adore how delicate they are -I can’t tell you how many compliments I’ve had.” How to make Glass nail, please refer to: How to Do Sea Glass Nails.
’90s Grunge nails
This style is inspired by the dark brown tones of lip liner (think MAC’s Chestnut and Spice lip pencils) and glossy brown lids popular in the ’90s. Ami Streets, a session manicurist, states, “I adore dark chocolate and camel browns for Autumn-Winter 2023.” The tones are both edgy and stylish, and are gentler than a jet-black finish.
If you’re not a fan of solid colors, Ami advises that these sepia-like hues are a perfect alternative to the perennially popular white French tip. Try Dior Vernis in Unapologetic or Essie Gel Couture in All Checked Out, and follow @nailsl0 on Instagram.
Molten metal nails
Award-winning nail artist and technician Metta Francis says chrome is back in all its glory, therefore molten metal effects like these ones created by Ami can be expected to be quite popular. Silver and gold will be combined, Metta says. “Consider iridescent highlights, three-dimensional effects like metal bullions, all-out metallic, and simple patterns on a natural ground.”
Reverse ombre French nails
Reverse ombre French nails take one coat of pastel polish followed by a coat of glitter polish, so they’re not for those who are short on time. The tips are made in a distinct process but follow the same procedures, culminating in a high-gloss top coat for a stylish contrast. The Instagram account @heygreatnails does a fantastic job.
Aura nails
Display your aura on your nails to let others know you’re a positive influence. This value is @1,800. nailme on Instagram blends the autumnal hues of khaki, dark blue, and burnt orange, which, according to the three nail artists with whom we spoke, will reign supreme over pastels. Very complicated, this task is best left to the experts.
Cargo nails
Ami claims this is inspired by the current trend of carrying stuff on one’s person. As we go towards fall, I’ve seen that the fashion crowd is crazy about khaki. She also says that this subdued green works well as a solid color or when used in abstract swirls and negative space patterns. “It’s such a fantastic neutral color and will sure to match with your autumn and winter wardrobe,” adds Ami, praising @lolo.nailedit’s work.
You can’t go wrong with Essie ExprEssie Fast Dry Formula Chip Resistant Nail Polish in 320 Precious Cargo-Go or Nailberry Oxygenated Nail Lacquer in Love You Very Matcha.
Glazed French nails
Hailey Bieber is responsible for popularizing the trend of painting one’s nails with iridescent lacquer to make them look like the glaze on a doughnut. If the sheen of glazed-doughnut nails is too much for you, try the glazed French instead: a quick coat of iridescent gloss over white French manicure tips.
Try Essie ExprEssie Quick Dry Nail Lacquer in Iced Out Glazed Donuts like these nails by @ aurora.nail on Instagram.
Nail-art sandwich
The full-color manicure with some simple nail art on two fingers (preferably the index and ring finger) has been popular all year, but Alexandra adds that the darker colours are great for the fall. For an appearance that’s at home in both traditional and contemporary settings, the unadorned nails are painted to match the nail art.
Coffee cup nails
Metta predicts that coffee tones (from oat milk lattes to espressos) will be quite popular this year because of how well they complement a variety of skin tones and hair colors. The gradient nails by @anouknailedit on Instagram are gorgeous. For Metta, the ideal nail shape for these colors is a short, rounded one. “A dot of a contrasting color on each nail is all you need for a stylish accent.
If you like your coffee strong, try Essie’s ExprEssie Quick Dry Nail Paint in 70 Cold Brew Crew or Sally Hansen’s Color Therapy Nail Polish in 140 Haute Stone.
Metallic azure
Ami thinks that this season’s must-have accessory is a pair of blue sunglasses with a dramatic silhouette. Nevertheless, pastels are too summery to be used year-round. For a more daring style that nods to the resurgence of the ’90s trend, try a metallic polish with a square tip.
Italian tips
An Italian manicure involves not completely covering the nail with lacquer, creating the appearance of longer nails. Let us now acquaint you with the Italian tidbit. As before, polish should be omitted from the very tips of both nails. The nail seems longer and thinner than it would with a regular French tip, which can look bulky.
To create a pair of mismatched nails, Alexandra’s preferred manicure is to use Italian-style tips and swirls. “She suggests beginning with a pastel shade, Essie’s Ballet Slippers as a good starting point. Next, for the ideal autumnal manicure, choose a beige like Green Manucurist Nail Lacquer in Shell Beige and a third color [of your choosing].”
