Williams has run for ten additional touchdowns this season, and a strong performance in the Cotton Bowl might bring his total for the year to 50.
After C.J. Stroud’s disappointing performance against Michigan, Williams emerged as the leader for the Heisman Trophy. He then led USC to a stunning victory over Notre Dame, scoring four touchdowns (three on the ground) in the process.
Observant fans picked up on an intriguing fact about the winning quarterback during the game: Williams had a simple yet powerful statement tattooed on his fingernails: “F— NDXX.”

On “Good Morning America,” Williams said his mother is the inspiration for his message paintings.
He credited his mother as his main source of motivation. As far back as I can remember, she’s been doing nails. She has a history of doing this, too. She’s probably been doing it ever since she was 14 years old. That happened a while before I came into the world. My mother has been doing this practically from the day I was born. I used to spend all my time sitting around or, you know, playing my game or messing with my mom, and to this day, I still fool with her very frequently. So there I was, doing my usual routine of sitting in my mother’s lap as she did my nails and playing my game. She always did ’em, but I managed to avoid getting any paint on him.
Williams had been doing this all season, but not always before every opponent. He showed the ultimate disdain by painting his nails with the phrase “F— Cal” after USC defeated Colorado. It would appear that this was not the first time Williams had successfully conveyed the intended message in such a covert manner.
It is a stunning display of panache from one of the finest players in college football, but Williams does not always use his manicured real estate to send a message to his opponents. Instead, he has utilized it to raise awareness for vital causes on several occasions.
