Observations On Thermal Nail Paint In Eight Points

Recently, I decided to test out a thermal Femme Fatale nail paint that I discovered on Live Love Polish. I have observed these on their website for several months and noticed excellent ratings from several manufacturers. So this was my chance to have a professional-looking two-toned home manicure, as I cannot do a French tip or an ombre nail to save my life.

These polishes change color depending on the temperature of your nail, as you can see from the GIFs above of me dipping my hands into various temperatures of water. These specific polish changes color from pale pink to fuchsia according to the temperature. Meaning that depending on how wrapped up I am or the weather outside, my nails may occasionally turn completely one color, while the majority of the time, they are pale with fuchsia tips.

But because this product is so hard to get and can be pricey compared to other nail polish options, I wanted to share my research based on my own experience with it and online rumors. You’ll be better positioned to determine if you wish this bottle to add to your polish collection now that you have this knowledge.

1. You Must Purchase A Trusted Brand

Brands like Sally Hansen and OPI, which do not specialize in thermal nail polish and tend to create their versions of every trend, are not something I can guarantee will provide fantastic results. These companies are more jacks of all trades than masters of anything. The most reputable thermal polish brands in the independent market will be Illimité and Femme Fatale, with Lacquer Lust and Cirque joining the fray recently. Most of the time, Livelovepolish.com, my favorite website, has these independent brands. Like larger nail polish firms, independent manufacturers don’t continuously try to release new products just for the fun of it. Therefore I think they have a better chance of successfully honing their techniques and formulas. With Maby, you can take the initiative in everything. 2. Make Sure You Like All Of The Potential Thermal Looks Before Purchasing

Thermal nail paints will alter color in response to your body temperature and the environment.

If you have on the purple and seafoam nail polish shown below, your nail will turn more purple and seafoam green depending on how warm or cold it is. Even though the ombre looks lovely, it will only sometimes last all day. Half of your nails may turn purple if your hands become cold. Additionally, your entire nail will become purple if you’re outside in the wind or chilly rain. Then, at night, when you’re warm and cozy in bed, you might look down and notice that your entire nail has suddenly turned sea foam.

3. You Can Use Them With A Base Coat And Top Coat

Many nail polishes are ineffective when used with a base or top coat. Since I use a base coat and top coat to protect my nails from harm and my polish from wear, I avoid those susceptible products. That’s why I disagree with it.

Fortunately, even the thickest base and top coats work beautifully with these thermal polishes. So carry on with your program as usual.

4. You Can Use Multiple Coats Of Polish For Full Opacity

The color-changing abilities of thermal polish are unaffected by adding more layers. That’s one less burden off our shoulders.

5. The Color It Is When First Applied Isn’t The Color It Will Be Once Dried

As those were the hues described to me in the advertisements, when I first received Femme Fatale’s “Dawn of the Day” in the mail, I assumed the bottle would contain a polish that was either a light lavender color or a purple fuschia color, or both. When I initially applied the polish, I was dismayed to see that it was a dark pink that was somewhere between the two hues in the bottle and on my nails.

But after it dried, the polish turned out to be the hues I had anticipated. Funny enough, it turned back to its previous dark pink tint once I removed it with acetone. Do any scientists wish to share their knowledge of these miraculous qualities with me?

6. You Have To Be Following the Patient Application

My patience is never very thick, so as soon as I put the nail polish on, I put my hands near hot air and cold water to see if they could change color. Naturally, nothing occurred because positive things take time, just like everything else.

After your top coat has dried completely, give your polish an hour to display its thermal qualities. It will dry in that transitional shade I mentioned in point 5 throughout this period. From there, you’ll suddenly notice that your nails’ tips and beds are in various colors when you glance down at them. Start the magic now.

7. The Color-Changing Properties Don’t Last Forever

I’m not referring to the polish once it has been painted on your nails. I’m referring to the polish contained in the bottle. Unfortunately, a manufacturer of these polishes can only guarantee outcomes after a year of storage in a drawer or on a shelf. Use it as frequently as you can. Also, avoid keeping it in an area of your home that is too hot or cold or under a bright light source, as you should with all nail paint. This will significantly lengthen the polish’s longevity.

8. They Are Beautiful And Worth The Money

As I previously stated, I cannot comment on the caliber of every thermal polish available. However, I can confidently tell that Femme Fatale’s polish was good. Illimité has also been the subject of great reviews, and its reputation as a producer of goods deserving of investment has been confirmed.

The Femme Fatale formula was fantastic and self-leveling. The way it applied made me feel like a skilled nail technician. As the days pass, the thermal color-change effect becomes more captivating. It’s also a lot of fun to plunge into a warm bath or shower after washing your hands in cold water with these.
